Compare the distribution of filtered and unfiltered data

SpatialKey allows you to see the impact that filters have on an attribute of your data by showing the filtered and unfiltered distributions in the same view.

Both of these histograms show the distribution of the square footage of properties sold in a real estate transactions dataset, filtered to only show two-bedroom properties.  In the histogram on the right, the “show unfiltered data” option is enabled.  This allows us to see the square footage distrubtion of two bedroom properites (or whatever filter we chose to apply) relative to all properties in the dataset.

Here’s how to show unfiltered data in any pod:

  1. Click the settings arrows in the top right/left of any pod.

  2. Click the “Settings” option in the pod menu.

  3. Click the “Show unfiltered data” checkbox to toggle this setting on and off.
